Operation and Maintenance

Saran Solar provides professional Operation & Maintenance (O&M) services for utility-scale, commercial and industrial solar power plants.
Our long-term, structured O&M approach is designed to maximize energy generation, reduce downtime and protect your solar investment throughout the plant life cycle.

We follow proactive, preventive and predictive maintenance practices to ensure reliable performance and high system availability.

Operation and Maintenance (O&M) for megawatt-scale (utility-scale) solar projects is a specialized, long-term process (typically 25+ years) designed to maximize energy production, minimize downtime, and protect investment returns. For large-scale projects, O&M involves a blend of proactive, preventative, and predictive strategies rather than mere reactive repairs, typically accounting for an average of $141,000 per year for a 10 MW project.

Scope Of Services

Key Components of Solar O&M Activities

  • Performance Monitoring & Analysis 24/7 remote monitoring of SCADA systems to track energy production, inverter efficiency, and environmental factors.
  • Solar Panel Cleaning Scheduled cleaning every 12-18 months, or more frequently in dry/dusty areas, to prevent soiling from reducing efficiency.
  • Preventive Maintenance (PM) Regular, scheduled inspections (monthly or quarterly) including thermal scanning of modules to detect hot spots, torque checks on mounting structures, and testing of electrical components.
  • Corrective Maintenance (CM) Unscheduled repairs based on monitoring alerts, such as replacing faulty inverters, repairing damaged cabling, or replacing string fuses.
  • Vegetation Management & Site Security Mowing grass to prevent shading and fire hazards, along with maintaining fencing and security systems.
  • High Voltage (HV) Maintenance Specialized, certified servicing of transformers and switchyards, typically ranging from 11 KV to 220 KV.
